Faculty are encouraged to apply
Notre Dame Research recently opened its internal grants competition and is now inviting faculty to apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 27, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. EST.
There are four different funding programs now accepting applications:
Equipment Restoration and Renewal Program: This award assists in the restoration, replacement, and renewal of the facilities needed for faculty research, scholarship, and creative endeavor. Grants will typically be in the range of $25,000 to $200,000.
Kobayashi Travel Fund: This award provides funding to initiate new research by subsidizing travel expenses incurred in the acquisition, analysis and development of data, and/or the consulting of primary materials, collections, or other research resources at off-campus sites. Grants up to $1,500 are available through this program.
Library Acquisitions Grant Program: This program funds library acquisitions (print, digital, electronic, or other formats) in support of research, scholarship, and creative endeavor. It is not meant to replace the normal means of enhancing the library’s collections, but to provide a means of responding to unique opportunities or challenges. It is expected that requests will normally be in the range between $25,000 and $150,000.
Notre Dame-Eli Lilly & Co. Faculty Fellowship Program in Drug Discovery: This fellowship provides a stipend for a Notre Dame faculty member to be a visiting scholar and experience, firsthand, the drug discovery and development process at Eli Lilly & Co. The fellow will shadow a team of Lilly scientists and project managers within the chemistry program in Indianapolis, Indiana for a period of at least two to three months.
