Khachatur Manukyan, research assistant professor in physics, has received one of 23 grants from the Notre Dame Research Faculty Research Support Program

Manukyan received support for his program entited, "Uncovering Pre-federal American Monetary History through the Multiscale Scientific Analysis of Coins and Paper Currency." 

Manukyan joined ND physics in 2012. His research interests are in rapid transformations occurring in reactive solutions and nanocomposites that store and release large amounts of energy and produce nanoscale materials for energy-related applications. He is interested in interactions of accelerated ions with nanostructured solid materials and the development of analytical methods for art forensics.
