Emeritus Professor Bill Shephard passed away Friday, July 28. Prof. Shephard joined Notre Dame's Department of Physics in 1963. With Prof. Paul Kenney, Bill founded the High Energy Physics program. He was an active experimentalist who worked on a number of projects at Fermilab and Brookhaven throughout his career. Bill was well known as a conscientious teacher, both as a mentor of graduate students and in the classroom.
