The resonant reactions of alpha-particles provide us with valuable spectroscopic information on the excited states of light nuclei. They are especially well-suited for studying alpha-cluster-states.

Recently we have developed and applied some algebraic methods for the description of clusterization. In the semi-microscopic algebraic cluster model a microscopically constructed model space is combined with phenomenological algebraic operators. This approach seems to be fruitfully applicable for the systematic description of the experimental data.

In this talk I plan to present the basic idea of the model, give illustrative examples for its application, and discuss its relative advantages and disadvantages in comparison with other theoretical approaches.
