-

Location: DVT in Jordan Hall of Science

Thursday, May 31
Two performances--7 pm and 8:30 pm
in the DVT at Jordan Hall of Science

As part of the Physics Department, NDeRC, and College of Science's celebration of the Transit of Venus, we'll be bringing back Axiom Brass for an encore performance of Celestial Suite.  Celestial Suite was commissioned for presentation in the DVT.  Axiom Brass, a brass quintet from Chicago performs the piece, while Keith Davis, Director of the DVT, will "play" the DVT (a show at the Digital Visualization Theater at the Jordan Hall of Science.  It's not a scientifically explanatory event, it's a visual appreciation of the music using the same content that would normally use to explain astronomy.  The visuals react to the character and pacing of the music as Axiom Brass play, but there's no narration explaining what you're seeing.  Axiom Brass will also play 2 other pieces, for a total performance time of about 40 minutes.

Tickets are FREE!!!  You can pick up tickets at the LaFortune Center box office.  There are only 272 seats TOTAL for the night, so you will need a ticket to get in.
