Determination of hexadecapole (β4) deformation of the light-mass nucleus 24Mg using quasi-elastic scattering measurements

Dr. Yogesh Gupta
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India

Quasi-elastic scattering measurements have been performed using 16O and 24Mg projectiles off 90Zr at energies around the Coulomb barrier. These experiments were performed using the FN accelerator of Nuclear Science Laboratory at university of Notre Dame. Experimental data were analysed in the framework of coupled channels (CC) calculations using the code CCFULL. The quadruple and hexadecapole deformations of 24

Collective Structure of Neutron-Rich Nuclei around 100Zr

Dr. Jin Wu
Postdoctoral Appointee
FRIB/MSU

The tensor force plays an important role in the configuration-dependent shell evolution named as type II shell evolution, which leads to the multiple shapes coexisting in one nucleus. The neutron-rich nuclei around Z=40 is well known for the shape coexistence phenomenon. With the Monte Carlo Shell Model (MCSM) calculation, three 0+
