The search for physics beyond the standard model (BSM) requires increasingly sophisticated detection techniques, particularly when hunting for subtle, low-mass signatures. This talk presents innovative approaches developed at the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to enhance our discovery potential. We showcase how Data Scouting techniques at CMS have dramatically improved our sensitivity to low-mass resonances by allowing us to collect data at unprecedented rates. Building on this success, we present our newly upgraded Level-1 trigger system for LHC Run-3, which incorporates machine learning-based anomaly detection to identify new physics signatures in real-time. These complementary approaches represent a paradigm shift in how we search for new physics, enabling exploration of previously inaccessible phase spaces. I will discuss recent results and the exciting prospects these methods offer for future discoveries.
