New Physics Directions at the LHC: Transverse, Forward, and Time

Dr. Max Fieg

The LHC has revealed nature's smallest scales in remarkable detail, completing the SM and discovering more than 80 new composite particles. Much of the field is now looking ahead to future colliders and other environments for new physics, and those directions are incredibly valuable — but there is still a great deal left to do with the machine we have today. Qualitatively new analyses are being explored at the LHC, and hardware and software upgrades are enabling measurements we could not previously perform. In this talk I will explore some of my recent work in three directions: TeV scale color-octet scalars in the transverse direction, a new analysis channel; GeV scale, weakly interacting particles in the far-forward direction at FASER, a new kinematic regime; and ultralight dark matter in the time domain, a new target.
