2025 GPAS Conference Award Recipients

The 2025 Graduate Physics and Astronomy Students annual conference was held on Wednesday, April 16. The Stavropoulos Center for Quantum Matter presented awards for the best oral presentation and the best poster presentation at the conference.

Thomas Bailey is the recipient of the Stavropoulos Prize for the Best Graduate Student Oral Presentation. His talk was titled "Production of 236U Reference Standards for Accelerator Mass Spectrometry Measurements." Bailey's research advisor is Prof. Philippe Collon.

Two awards were given for the Stavropoulos Prize for the Best Graduate Student Poster. James McKenzie's poster was titled  "Retrieving material information from the error signals in scanning tunneling microscopy." McKenzie's advisor is Prof. Xiaolong Liu. Matthew Toole's poster was titled "Atomic-Scale Frustrated Josephson Coupling and Multi-Condensate Visualization in FeSe." Toole is also advised by Prof. Xiaolong Liu.
