Aprahamian gives invited talks in January

Freimann Professor of Physics Ani Aprahamian gave two invited talks in January. One talk was hosted by the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Lecture Series on Contemporary Armenian Issues, and the Ararat-Eskijian Museum. At this event, Prof. Aprahamian talked about Science, Technology and Education in Armenia. She serves as the current Director of the Alikhanyan National Science Laboratory in Yerevan, Armenia. Aprahamian then gave a talk at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory titled, The GW170817 Neutron Star Merger event and Nuclear Physics Experiments: Focus on Fission. This talk addressed the role of nuclear physics measurements, specifically fission and the high precision measurements of nuclear masses for their roles in understanding this potential site for the synthesis of the elements from Fe to U.
