Dr. Fengqiao Luo received his PhD in Physics in August 2014 from the University of Notre Dame. While at ND he was advised by Prof. Mark Caprio. After graduation, Dr. Luo decided to pursue a PhD in Engineering at Northwestern University. He was recently awarded with the 2020 George L. Nemhauser Prize for Best Doctoral Dissertation.
This prize is for his dissertation "Algorithms and Properties of Distributionally Robust Optimization and Its Generalization." Luo is advised at Northwestern by Prof. Sanjay Mehrotra.
