Precision Accelerator-Based Neutrino Physics

The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is currently under construction and will include large neutrino detectors in both Illinois and South Dakota. It has a wide array of physics goals including precise measurements of neutrino oscillations and searches for physics. beyond the Standard Model. In order to maximize its physics reach, DUNE will need very precise simulations of the neutrino beam (LBNF) as well as the interactions the beam induces in the DUNE detectors. In the decade leading up to DUNE startup, major efforts are being made to collect datasets of neutrino-nucleus and hadron-nucleus interactions that will be inputs to these simulations. This talk will include an overview of the DUNE experiment and its status as well as a review of recent results by the MINERvA neutrino scattering experiment and the EMPHATIC and NA61 hadron production experiments.
