The University of Notre Dame is home to one of the longest running nuclear physics programs in the country, and recently celebrated 80 years of nuclear science. Learn the history of the Notre Dame Nuclear Science Laboratory, and hear an overview of the current science program, which addresses a number of open questions in astrophysics, nuclear science, cultural heritage, and consumer product safety.
Immediately following the talk, tour the Nuclear Science Lab in Nieuwland Hall until 4 pm.
