Post-Graduate Career Opportunities with a PhD in Nuclear Physics

Dr. Michael Skulski
(Ph.D. class of 2020)
NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes

Because of the exposure to so many different sub-fields of research under the umbrella of Nuclear Physics, a graduate has the ability to explore new opportunities that allow them to expand their skillset as their career continues. Whether in an academic or industry setting,  having a strong set of computational skills and being able to think creatively and critically about a problem are important tools to develop. In this seminar, I will introduce my graduate studies and the abilities I developed in grad school and how they led me to succeed in my career after graduation. A focus on my career as a post-doctoral researcher in radioisotope production at Brookhaven National Laboratory and as a nuclear engineer at NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes will highlight possible career paths for a Nuclear Physics PhD.
