Our first Condensed Matter Industry Panel will be held on Sept. 5th at 16:00 in NSH118. We are pleased to host two panelists that hold R&D industry positions and are based in the Midwest: Dr. Manori Gunasekera is an MBE expert from MACOM, Ann Arbor, MI and Dr. Shahriar Esmaeili is an expert on quantum sensing from Toyota R&D also in Ann Arbor, MI.
Dr. Gunasekera is an experienced process development principal engineer with nine years of experience in semiconductor R&D. She got her Ph.D. from the University of Houston in 2015.
Dr. Esmaeili is an expert on quantum optics and nanophotonics at Toyota Research Institute of North America. He got his Ph.D. from Texas A & M in 2023.
Our panelists will tell you about their transition from graduate school to the private sector and about their current experience in industry. The session will open with brief presentations given by Dr. Gunasekera and Dr. Esmaeili and will include a 30-40min long Q and A.
