The 2024 Graduate Physics and Astronomy Students annual conference was held on Wednesday, April 24. The Stavropoulos Center for Quantum Matter presented awards for the best oral and the best poster presentation at the conference.
Joel Burke is the recipient of the Stavropoulos Prize for the Best Graduate Student Oral Presentation. His talk was titled "Orbits of Moving Group Binaries." Burke's research advisor is Prof. Jeffrey Chilcote.
Nileema Sharma is the recipient of the Stavropoulos Prize for the Best Graduate Student Poster. Her poster was titled "Molecular Quantum Simulator." Sharma's advisor is Prof. Xiaolong Liu, and other research contributors to the poster are Anthony Francisco, Sushrut Ghonge, David B. Green, Anthony Ruth, Laura C. Collins, Morten R. Eskildsen, Boldizsár Jankó, and Kenjiro K. Gomes.
