Freimann Professor of Physics Ani Aprahamian gave the opening talk of the 4th International Conference on Advances in Radioactive Isotope Science (ARIS) on June 5. Aprahamian's talk was given in the Conclave room at the Palais des Papes in Avignon, France.

The ARIS conference focuses on advances in the science of radioactive isotopes. The conference takes place every three years and was originally scheduled for June 2020 but then rescheduled for June 2023, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2017 ARIS conference was held in 2017 in Keystone, Colorado, and the 2026 conference will be held in Fukushima.
