Research Interests

David Robertson is a theoretical physicist with research interests in elementary particle physics and high-performance computing. His recent research has focused on computational tools for precision calculations in quantum field theories. He has also worked on Hamiltonian approaches to strongly interacting field theories, including the light cone formalism, and particle physics phenomenology.

From 2002-2024 he was a member of the physics faculty at Otterbein University, where he taught courses across the physics curriculum as well as in the Honors and Integrative Studies programs. He was chair of Physics for twelve years and led the department in building a culture of research-informed teaching and high-impact undergraduate research. From 2015-2019 he served as the university’s Director of Undergraduate Research and Creative Work. In 2017 he was named Otterbein University’s Teacher of the Year.
